The Block Rotation Makes PVHS Unique
- 6 class periods divided into 2 alternating days
- A Days –Periods 1, 2, 3
- B Days –Periods 4, 5, 6
- Over 2 weeks, students attend five (5) A Days and five (5) B Days
- Zero (0) Period meets every day for 55 minutes from 7:30am –8:25am

8:30-10:25 Period 1 or 4 (115 minutes)
10:25-10:35 Nutrition (10 minutes)
10:35-10:40 Passing
10:40-12:45 Period 2 or 5 (115 minutes plus 10 minutes for announcements)
12:45-1:15 Lunch
1:15-1:20 Passing
1:20-3:15 Period 3 or 6 (115 minutes)
Block Schedule Advantages

- Our block gains more class time by reducing time spent getting settled in and then packing up…
- Compare a zero period class where students get approximately 5 to 10 minutes to start their work, to that same block class where students get about 20 minutes.
