Ms. Shellie Parkinson has been teaching music for 18 years. She’s been at PVHS since the school reopened in 2002. She earned her Music Education degree from Illinois State University and finished her Master of Music in Conducting degree at Sam Houston State University. She’s had the pleasure of working with master conductors such as Johan DeMeij, Frank Ticheli, Peter Boonshaft and Lowell Graham. Additionally, she’s been lucky enough to perform and record with artists such as John Legend, Doc Severinsen and Bobby Shew.
At PVHS, Ms. Parkinson teaches String and Full Orchestra, Marching Band and Wind Ensemble, and Jazz Band I and Jazz II, Music Appreciation and Music Theory AP. She also serves as the chapter advisor of PVHS Tri-M Music Honor Society and the Musical Director of the Spring Drama Musical Productions.
